Radio Mpongwe is a Zambian radio station in Mpongwe District. It was established in 2014 and broadcasts on 99.1MHz frequency in Mpongwe and the surrounding areas. The station is licensed by Zambia Information and Communication Technology Authority (ZICTA) and the Independent Broadcasting Authority (IBA).

Coverage

The station covers six Lamba chiefdoms directly under Mpongwe District with an estimated population of 93,380 out of which 78,401 live in the rural part of the district (2010 Zambia Census) and five other chiefdoms in Masaiti and Lufwanyama districts.

It's active coverage extends to Mpongwe, Luanshya, Kalulushi, Kapiri Mposhi and some parts of Kitwe and Ndola.

Management structure

Radio Mpongwe is managed by a co-operative board that comprises of five board members represented; a Police Officer from the Zambia Police, a Nurse, an Agricultural Extension Officer from the Ministry of Agriculture, a journalist and the Chairman of the co-operative union.
