Christopher Shakafuswa (born 4 August 1982) is a Zambian politician representing Mandevu Constituency in the National Assembly since 2021[1]. A businessman by profession, he's a member of the Patriotic Front (PF) party and serves on parliamentary committees for Local Government, Cabinet Affairs, and Housing & Chiefs' Affairs[2].

Development and community projects

In January 2025, he formally handed over a CDF-funded 1×4 classroom block and desks at Chazanga Combined School, enhancing educational infrastructure in Mandevu[3]. He also advocated CDF support for a family who lost three children in a house fire, assuring government assistance and dignified burial costs[4].

In April 2024, he joined voices praising the UPND-led government’s commitment to educational infrastructure, marking the completion of multiple classroom blocks in Mandevu at over K1.6 million[5].

Constituency leadership and reform

Shakafuswa publicly supported a constituency delimitation exercise to promote equitable service delivery across Lusaka, citing Mandevu’s large population and high demand for CDF bursaries and skills programmes[6].

He also relaunched COVID‑19 vaccination sensitisation campaigns in Mandevu in late 2021, urging residents to act responsibly and advising ward councilors to close shallow wells and latrines to limit disease outbreaks[7].

In May 2023, Shakafuswa was arrested and charged with allegedly proposing violence at former President Edgar Lungu’s residence—an offence punishable by imprisonment under the Penal Code. Investigations were ongoing at the time[8].

Previously, in May 2019, he appeared in court facing charges of assaulting a woman in Lusaka but denied wrongdoing while awaiting trial[9].
