- c. 1790 – Bemba oral history recalls that Chief Chitimukulu VII died during the late dry season, traditionally commemorated on or around 22 August with ancestral rituals in Kasama.
- 22 August 1853 – David Livingstone's travel journals describe entering Lozi territory near present-day Senanga, guided by Makololo chiefs.
