Hakainde Hichilema assumed office as President of Zambia on 24 August 2021. The President has the authority to nominate members of the National Assembly to make up his Cabinet. Hichilema made his first appointment in the Ministry of Finance on 27 August 2021. The full Cabinet of 24 Ministers was unveiled on 8 September 2021.
