Deutsch: "Broken Hill Skull" aus Kabwe, Sambia. Der Schädel wurde (als Typusexemplar) zunächst Homo rhodesiensis benannt und später zu Homo erectus gestellt. Seit den 1990er-Jahren wird er von einem Teil der Forscher als afrikanische Variante von Homo heidelbergensis ausgewiesen, und gelegentlich wird er auch als "archaischer Homo sapiens" bezeichnet.
