States of emergency in Zambia

States of emergency in Zambia are dispositions to grant special powers to the executive branch in case of exceptional circumstances. A state of emergency was declared following the failed coup d'état attempt of 1997 and 20 years later after the Lusaka City Market fire on 4 July 2017.
