During the history of Zambia two presidents have died in office[1][2][3].Of those two died cause of some sikness. In all two cases, the Vice President of Zambia took over the office of presidency as Acting President until a presidential by-election was held after 90 days to go and vote for a new president to finish the term.
Michael Sata holds the record for shortest term served in Zambia, holding the office of presidency for 3 years and 35 days before dying. Levy Mwanawasa is the president to die while in office when he got sick[4] [5]on national duty he died on August 19, 2008[3] at the Percy Military Hospital in Paris
